I write about LGBT+ culture and history, mental health, and learning to accept ourselves and others. My blogs also include features on writing and getting  published, as I want to support other new authors realise their creative writing ambitions.

Bent Is Not Broken, winner of the 2023 Queer Indie Book Award: Best Non-Fiction.

It's my first, and so far only book, although I have been writing all my life. Published in November 2023 on my 60th birthday, it's part memoir, part interviews with LGBT+ people of all ages, and part research-based commentary on LGBT+ culture, and how society has treated LGBT+ people throughout history.

Now retired, I finally have the head-space and time to write about the things that matter to me most. Writing is my passion, and I am so glad to share it with you.
